This former farmhouse transformed into a botanical garden, opened in July 2011, is an ideal place for a family outing in search of green spaces. You can contact the Dosso family in advance to arrange a visit to their vast 30-hectare garden. Mireille Dosso, owner and researcher at the Pasteur Institute, will show you the different varieties of plants she tends with passion. The guided tour lasts around 45 minutes and takes in a number of areas, including the orchid corner, "Yuka land", termite alley and fruit trees. You'll also be able to admire some of the Makais Garden's must-see attractions, such as the giant cassava, the land and water turtle enclosure, and the bat anthuriums. You can also visit the nurseries and farmland, where you'll see cabbage, tomato, cassava and ginger plantations. In the near future, the Makais family plans to offer plants for sale, so that you can leave with a small souvenir. We advise you to come in the morning to enjoy this enchanting site without the heat.
