Opened in 1977, the Arusha Declaration Museum is located on the Kaloleni Road in Tanzania.

It traces the history of Tanzania in the context of socialism and self-sufficiency policy and the statement of the first President of Tanzania Julius Nyerere. 

In this museum you will find documents, photos and some statues and models representing the characters of this period, as well as original artifacts

The main attractions of the Declaration Museum are:

- One of the uhuru torches that were used in the country after its independence

- Chairs used by UNAT leaders during the independence struggle

- Models of a village in ujamaa

- Photos of Tanzanian soldiers during the war with Idi Amin Dada

- Photos of key moments in 1967 when the policy was introduced

- Old photos of political leaders
