Built on a plot of approximately 8,000 m² at Fann Résidence on the western corniche of Dakar, the house of the first president of Senegal, Léopold Sédar Senghor, dates from 1978. Bought by the State of Senegal, the house of Léopold Sédar Senghor has been restored and turned into a museum. Inaugurated on November 30, 2014 during the 15th summit of La Francophonie, it is now open to the public.
