The Magdalen Islands are an archipelago located off Dakar (Senegal). It is made up of two islands, the larger of which is Sarpan Island, and the smaller, Lougne Island. Covering an area of 50 ha, the island offers an environment as rich as it is varied with more than 101 species of trees including Tamarind, Euphork Balsam, Bosua... The trees grow like creepers to escape the effect of the strong wind coming from the sea and that is why we find dwarf baobabs there.
