Réserve naturelle de Popenguine

It is located in the department of Mbour (region of Thiès). As early as 1936, an old forest had been classified. The reserve was created in 1986 to allow the rehabilitation of a very degraded environment due to deforestation (firewood), overgrazing and several waves of drought. The birds are numerous and we see reappearing species such as the guinea fowl, the jackal, the porcupine, etc….
