Located on the old hillside of Kampala in Uganda, the Great Mosque of Kampala is one of the most impressive religious buildings in the country both for its architecture and size.
Built from 2003 to 2008 with the support of former Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi, it has a capacity to accommodate nearly 16,000 people. The mosque is subdivided into different compartments whose upper room is the ideal large and best provided for your visit. This large room is itself divided in two, one room reserved for men and another room with a balcony reserved for women.
The minaret of the mosque is just as impressive as the building, you will have to climb nearly 300 steps to reach it.
