The Ben Youssef Medersa, one of the largest Koranic schools in North Africa, is located in the heart of Marrakech's medina. This historic institution, founded in the 11th century, is an outstanding example of traditional Moroccan architecture. Its remarkable architectural features include an inner courtyard adorned with a marble fountain, beautifully detailed mosaics and a majestic 40-metre minaret. Recently restored, the medersa showcases fascinating architectural details, offering a serene atmosphere ideal for contemplation and photography.
