The Bandia private reserve constitutes a small jewel of ecological success through the surprising regeneration of its flora and the reintroduction of large African mammals, sometimes extinct for centuries, due to demographic pressure and poaching. It is located 65 km from Dakar and 15 km from Saly-Portudal (seaside resort on the “small coast”) on the main road (N1) going towards Mbour and Casamance. Most animals allow themselves to be approached Allow 2 to 3 hours to cover the 50 km of visiting trails. The reserve is open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Be aware that animals are more visible outside of the hot midday hours.
