Located in Southern Namibia The NamibRand Nature Reserve was created to help protect and conserve the unique ecology and wildlife of the southwestern Namib Desert. It is probably the largest private nature reserve in southern Africa, covering an area of 215,000 ha. The reserve shares a 100 km border with the Namib-Naukluft National Park to the west and is bounded on the east by the imposing Nubib Mountains. You there all facets of the Namib Desert are on this reserve such as plains of sand and gravel and savannah expanses alternate with mountain ranges, inselbergs and vegetated dune belts.
