Located 125 km west of Arusha town, nestling by the wall of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park is one of the oldest and most popular sanctuaries in East AfricaThe main habitats include the shallow soda lake itself which occupies 77% of the National Park total area of 330 sq. km, the groundwater forest, open grassland, acacia woodland, and the rift wall.
The most famous spectacle in the park is the tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along branches of acacia trees. Other animals found in the park include buffalo, elephants, leopards, baboons, impala, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich, and hippos. Popularly referred to as an ornithologist’s paradise, Lake Manyara National Park contains over 400 bird species found in most savanna and river habitats in East Africa.
Moshi / Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
07:30hrs_____ Depart Moshi or Arusha by Safari Jeep to Manyara National Park. The distance from Moshi is 210kms while from Arusha is 130kms.
10:00hrs_____ Arrive at the park and proceed on a Game drive. Animals expected to be seen include Elephants, Dik Dik, Leopards, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, and different kinds of birds.
13:00hrs_____ At lunchtime you will stop at a nice picnic site and enjoy an amazing lunch. Thereafter, you will proceed on a game drive.
16:00hrs_____ You will depart the National park and proceed to Arusha town.
18:00hrs_____ You will arrive at Arusha town thereafter, transfer to your hotel/residence.
