The Signature Safari 7 Day Great Migration Classic Safari takes us on the adventure that encompasses the four great parks of The Northern Circuit. We start out with a safari in the Tarangire National Park, so named for the life-giving river that wends its way through the park and draws all manner of creatures to drink of her sating waters. After this, we make for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, the largest park in Tanzania and home to the Earths last great terrestrial migration. On our third day on the endless plain, we make tracks for the Ngorongoro Highlands in preparation for our descent into the crater proper, one of the seven wonders of Africa and the premier game viewing experience in the country. We bring this epic safari experience to a close with a visit to Manyara National Park, home to a vast shallow soda lake where flamingo in their thousands feed and breed. We will take accommodation in excellent lodges carefully chose by Signature Safari for quality.
Day 1: Arusha-Tarangire National Park
Our personal safari guide and driver will meet you at the airport or hotel to undertake the drive, on good tarmac road, the some hundred and twenty kilometers to Tarangire National Park where we undertake our first day of game drives. Tarangire well known for its elephant populations, three families numbering in the region of one thousand each, is so named for the life-giving Tarangire River which wends its way through the park and gives sustenance from its cooling waters to a broad variety of game that comes here to imbibe. We may hope to see zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, to name a few. It is possible we will glimpse our friend leo Panthera, Simba, the mighty lion stalking his prey or leopard watching and relaxing in the trees above. An ornithological paradise, some four hundred and fifty birds have been here identified. Returning to our lodge for a hot lunch we again at 1400 hrs head out to continue our game viewing experience in the park. With the day coming to a close and the sun setting over The Rift Valley our driver will convey us to our selected lodgings for a delectable dinner and an overnight in comfort at Tarangire Osupuko Lodge
Day 2: Tarangire Park - Serengeti National Park
After our breakfast, we continue our journey heading up towards the fertile highlands where wheat, coffee, and corn, are grown by the Iraqw people. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we will be afforded a view of the breath-taking Ngorongoro Crater before traveling onwards to the Serengeti National Park, Serengeti, ‘Endless Plain’ in Maa, the tongue of the Maasai, which we will reach by midday. The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania covering an astounding 15,000 km squared with diverse landscapes and habitats such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, Savannah, and mountain. It is upon this landscape the great migration of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope takes place and we will Endeavour to take the opportunity to witness the thousands upon thousands of animals on their search for food and water. With our en-route game drive behind us, we lunch at the lodge and, at 1430 hrs, head out for our afternoon game drive. With the day drawing to a close we return to the lodge in anticipation of excellent dining and capacious quarters to harbor our rest. accommodation Serengeti heritage tented camp
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
After our hearty breakfast at the lodge, we head out to enjoy our wildlife adventure on the ‘Endless Plain’. There is to be found upon the plain an abundance of wildlife with over three million large mammals here resident easily justifying the recognition of the landscape as a UNESCO world heritage site. Other than the great migrating hordes we seek, we may also see cheetah, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, wildebeest, hartebeest, topi, eland, crocs, Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelle, amongst many many more. With over five hundred bird species identified the park is a veritable ornithological paradise, ostrich abound, secretary bird, marabou stork, and the largest flighted bird on Earth, the kori bustard. accommodation Serengeti heritage tented camp

After our hearty breakfast, we head out for an en route game drive upon the Serengeti. Our en route game drive brings us to the uplands of the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO world heritage site formed millions of years ago in the massive explosion of a volcano that rivaled Kilimanjaro in height is 610 m deep and covers roughly around 304 square kilometers. Due to its dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the Crater offers the best game viewing of all the parks in Tanzania. We will arrive at the Crater rim and enjoy our lunch at our lodge, The Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. With our post-lunch rest revitalizing us we set off on a walking safari of about three kilometers along the crater rim to take in the awesome spectacle of this fabled landscape.
