Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our company representatives to ensure that your route through immigration and baggage collection is a smooth as possible. Your guide will transfer you to the hotel for the evening.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast head towards Murchison Falls National Park. You will  stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will be able to Rhino Trek with protected animals and see them close up. The trek normally takes 1 – 2 hours and after this you will proceed to Masindi town for lunch. From Masindi you will pass through Budongo forest to reach the top of the stunning falls where the placid Nile passes through a narrow cleft to create a thunderous roar as it falls about 150 meters deep. Enjoy the sunset as, you rest and spend the night.

Day 3: The launch cruise along the Victoria Nile
After breakfast, embark on an early morning game drive where you will sight variety of game such as Elephants, Lions, buffaloes, hartebeests, water bucks, Oribi, Rothchild’s giraffe, hyenas and many others. Return from the game drive for late breakfast and a rest at the Lodge to prepare for an afternoon launch cruise downstream of the Victoria Nile and the base of the falls to see animals like the Hippopotamus, water bucks, buffaloes and crocodiles. The shores also harbor variety of bird species such as Horn bills, Goliath herons, pelican bee-eaters and the rare shoebill. After this great experience go for dinner and  overnight.

Day 4: Drive To Kibale Forest National Park.
After breakfast,  we travel east towards the town of Fort Portal. Along the drive enjoy the views of the Rwenzori Mountains, farmlands, and local tea plantations.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking

Kibale National Park is one of Africa’s most researched and documented forest reserves. The fascinating 300 sq. mile mahogany Kibale Forest is home to over 250 butterfly species, 360 bird species, and the natural habitat for an amazing 12 primate species, and contains the highest primate density of any area on Earth. This morning we will go for a half day chimpanzee tracking activity at Kanyanchu you will spend time with the Chimpanzees from nest to nest. Kanyanchu’s chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent. Enjoy a guided forest walk and the thrill experience of tracking families of chimpanzees, red colobus monkeys and 10 other primate species. Witness families of Chimpanzees and Red Colobus Monkeys chattering and swinging through the ancient forest trees.In the afternoon you will partake in the Bigodi swamp walk. Bigodi is very good for bird watching with distinct possibilities of viewing birds that can only be found in Uganda.

Day 6 –Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart Kibale Forest after breakfast to Queen Elizabeth NP, finding Queen Elizabeth National Park, lying 1978 sq. km west of Uganda. Queen Elizabeth harbours a diverse Eco-system which are, a lovely savannah, fertile wetlands making it home for the big game, 10 primate species and a large number of bird species. Upon arrival you will have a two-hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel which is worthwhile for an opportunity to see hippo, buffalo, Ugandan kobs, elephants and warthogs. This trip also enables you the chance to see some spectacular birds.

The Kazinga channel is about 32 kilo metres long joining Lake Gorge to Lake Edward. It has the perfect view of the parks’ major wildlife ventures. The shores of the lake attract a large concentration of mammals, birds as well as reptiles all year around.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Begin your day with a cup of coffee, and then enjoy an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile where you may encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Ugandan kobs and a variety of birds. After lunch you’ll move to the northern end of the park. In this area the biodiversity and animals show greater affinity to Central African forests rather than East African forests. You’ll then travel south into the remote and open Ishasha plains in the southwest of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Famous for tree-climbing lions in the fig trees, the Ishasha plains are also home to elephants, Ugandan kob, topi, eland, buffalo, wart hogs, and other Savannah wildlife. The Ishasha River supports a healthy hippo population. The Ishasha River runs through this part of the park and it supports a healthy hippo population.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This morning we leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and make our way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the home of the Silverback Mountain Gorillas. The drive is very scenic, if you’re lucky, the chance to spot a tree climbing lion might be waiting.

You will arrive at your destination in time for a relaxing evening.

Day 9: Gorilla Tracking

An early start will see you transfer to the Park headquarters for a Gorilla trekking briefing .Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. After this, you will enter the forest which is home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Mountain gorillas are one of the rarest animals on earth; fewer than 700 remain and there is none in captivity. There are about 340 mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, almost half the world’s population of these huge, yet gentle and endearing primates. Typically, they are found in family groups of between five and fifteen individuals with one dominant male, known as a Silverback, which is the largest and strongest of the group. Mountain gorillas are the largest of all apes and a mature male can stand over six feet in height, and weigh in excess of 400 pounds. Dominance among the group’s males appears to be determined by size and strength. It is the dominant male who decides when the group will move, stop, rest, and sleep. Mountain gorilla groups are stable, cohesive units that spend most of their time on the ground, “knuckle-walking” through the forest within their respective home ranges.

Despite their immense size and strength, gorillas are typically gentle beings, intelligent and dignified. They are endlessly patient with each other and disputes are settled quickly. They are primarily vegetarian, with the leaves, shoots, and stems of a wide range of rain forest plants making up a majority of their diet. Locating the gorillas can take a few hours or the whole day depending on how far they have moved from the place they spent the previous night. For conservation purposes, time allowed with the Gorillas is 1 hour. Once you have completed the trek you will return to the lodge, for a well-earned rest.

Day 10: Kampala/Entebbe

This day marks the end of your journey through the pearl of Africa. Departing Buhoma, we make the long drive back to the capital city of Kampala. En-route the journey you will make numerous stops including one at the Equator. Driving through the farmlands will allow you see the famous Ankole longhorn cattle
