This Masai Mara Lake Nakuru safari begins with a drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara.
Your first encounter with the Great Rift Valley will be at a stop at ViewPoint where you will see spectacular escarpment walls and deep valleys down below.
This drive will then continue until you get to the location where wildebeests darken the Mara grasslands every year in their migration from Serengeti.
You will spend two days here, taking in the sights and sounds of Kenya’s untamed beauty until you depart for Lake Nakuru.
Your final days in this Masai Mara Lake Nakuru safari will be enjoyed in a destination filled with so many feathered friends that your mornings will be filled with birdsong.
Wild animals and water-loving mammals such as waterbucks and hippos will keep you company from afar as you enjoy the awe-inspiring backdrop of the lake, euphorbia forest, Baboon cliff and Lion hill.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL NAIROBI
Arrival in Nairobi by international flight, Met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay. If time allows we have a short city tour, visiting the Kenyatta international conference center, the Nairobi skyline point, the parliament building and the central business district.
DAY 2: NAIROBI-LAKE NAKURU
Breakfast will be followed by a drive to Lake Nakuru; one of the many saline lakes on the Great Rift Valley floor via Nanyuki and Nyahururu. The lake is home to both the greater and lesser flamingoes and forms part of the Lake Nakuru National Park; here you will find a Rhino Sanctuary and sighting the waterbuck is relatively easier than in other parks. You will be put up at the Lodge situated atop a hill and offering an unrivalled view of the park, you can conduct bird watching, visit the curio shop, try indoor games or perhaps swim. Lunch and dinner will be served at the lodge and this will be you overnight stop at the Lodge.
DAY 3: LAKE NAKURU TO MASAI MARA
Today the road will lead you to Maasai Mara, before then you will traverse part of the Kikuyu country before you enter the plains of Maasailand. This reserve has an area of some 1,500 square kilometres in the south-western corner of Kenya; the Mara is unfenced, bordered in the West by the Oloololo Escarpment and in the East by the Ngama Hills. It has drawn many a photographer and travelers across the globe that come to marvel at it. In addition to the great herds of wildebeest and zebra on their annual migration, this animal sanctuary supports; Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Kongoni, Topi, Thomson’s Gazelle, Defassa Waterbuck, as well as eight species of primates. All meals will be catered for by the Camp. Overnight at the ENKOROK camp.
DAY 4: FULL DAY MARA
Full day spent exploring Masai Mara with packed lunch.
Later return to your camp for overnight stay.
DAY 5 MASAI MARA- NAIROBI
Believe it or not, after a hearty breakfast, it’s time to leave the Maasai Mara; this African Safari is at an end. You will be driven back to Nairobi. There will be a game drive as you exit the Mara. On arrival in Nairobi you will be transferred to your hotel or to the airport to catch your flight back home
